The EAST OHIO Volleyball Club will be starting on November 15, 2008 and will practice through May 2009. Playing on a Jr. Club Team will not affect a high school player’s eligibility as long as all of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) regulations are followed. Jr. Club Teams have their own insurance. They are regulated by USA Volleyball, the national governing body for volleyball in the United States.
The goals of EOVC are to provide over 100 hours of high quality volleyball instruction, skill development, team strategy, and tournament experience to each player in our club. We want to be able to send our players back to their high school teams as one of the best players to their school. A Jr. Club Team is an extension of learning volleyball for high school players and can be a natural bridge for college volleyball or USA Adult Volleyball. We will not put any unreasonable demands on players when conflicts occur with EOVC and another seasonal high school sport. We also will not demand any player to choose between family or religious occasions and our Club. Our Club philosophy is “FAMILY, SCHOOL, and then ATHLETICS.
”The EAST OHIO Volleyball Club is celebrating its 16th year. The first year we only had one team, and we have been growing ever since. In the future we hope to have our Volleyball facility and sport complex on 9.4 acres of property on Lyntz Road in Lordstown.
The cost for joining the EAST OHIO Volleyball Club is $500.00. This includes membership into USA Volleyball, insurance, gym rental, balls, equipment, uniforms, and tournament fees. Players are responsible for their own personal equipment such as: kneepads, and volleyball shoes. Players will not be allowed to practice until all forms are turned in. A $100.00 “Commit to Play” deposit will guarantee your spot on your team. This will be due immediately after you are offered a position on one of our Club teams. A $200.00 payment is due by the FIRST practice. The balances of your Club fees are due no later than the end of January. You also have the option of paying in full at anytime before the January deadline. NO REFUNDS CAN OR WILL BE GIVEN.
There is an inherent risk of minor or major injuries from participation in volleyball. Every individual is responsible for prudent judgment, exercising caution, and good sportsmanship at every practice and tournament. The most common injuries that happen in volleyball occur to ankles, shoulders, fingers, and knees. This is not an exclusive list of injuries because almost any injury could take place at any time.
